This course aims to help students who are at the high-intermediate levels (CEFR B2) achieve the IELTS band scores of at least 6.5, which is the most commonly required band score for graduate programs in the US/UK. Using the official Cambridge IELTS course book, Mindset for IELTS, Level 3 (the highest level), the course will cover all four skills – Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, focusing on useful vocabulary, grammar, phrases, and test-taking strategies for specific IETLS test tasks. Additional resources will also be provided for the students.
▌課程特色
The class is taught by a foreign teacher who has taught at National Tsing Hua University for almost 20 years. The teacher received her PhD in English language teaching from the US and can also speak Chinese fluently. With the small class size, the teacher can give students individual feedback for their written and spoken production.
▌修課條件
The course is not recommended for students whose English language proficiency is below the high-intermediate level. The course will be conducted entirely in English with students interacting with each other in English as well. The course is most suited for students who are seriously preparing to go to an English-speaking country for their Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in the near future. The students are expected to attend every class and participate actively in class discussion.

•Students will have a clear understanding of the task requirements in all parts of IELTS (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing).
•Students will learn useful vocabulary, grammar, phrases, and test-taking strategies for specific IETLS test tasks.
•Students will gain confidence in English communication through class interaction with the teacher and their classmates.
•Students will get individual feedback for their written homework and in-class speaking performance.
